Pre-Planning

Dear Friends,

One hundred-ten years ago, my Grandfather, Harry T. Maher founded Harry T. Maher Funeral Home in Cleveland. In the mid 1920’s, he built the first home designed for funeral service in the State of Ohio.  After his untimely death in 1939, my Grandmother, Lucy Maher continued in the business and passed it on to her sons, my father Hugh and my uncle John. In 1954 the funeral home added the  location in South Euclid and in 1973 merged with Melbourne Funeral Home to form our current company, Maher-Melbourne Funeral Home, where we have continued to serve families with the same caring, commitment and compassionate service that have served generations before us.

After careful consideration, and in order to serve our families well into the future, we have decided to move our facility just 1.7 miles east, to 5236 Mayfield Road in Lyndhurst (just east of Richmond Rd.).  By choosing this location, we can continue to provide the trusted service you have come to rely on from the Maher family. Along with our new location, we can rely on expanded services and increased support staff, which will allow me to spend some time with my family. Together with Mario Fioritto, Jr. and members of the Fioritto Family, we will continue to serve our families in our new location. Having shared the Woodland Avenue location in the 1950’s and 1960’s with the Fioritto Family, we have a long-standing history and felt that our being at their location in Lyndhurst would be the best fit for us and the families we will continue to serve for the future. Know that your Pre-Arrangements that have been on file will go with us to our new location where we will provide the same services you have come to expect from the Maher Family.

Please call us at (216) 382-4500 to arrange a tour of our new facilities or to discuss your funeral arrangements.

I am pleased to announce our move and look forward to Maher-Melbourne Funeral Home serving you for many years to come.

Sincerely,
Kevin Maher
